The room had good space with necessary amenities. however, the decor felt quite dated. Great pub nearby for darts and billiards.

Consider exploring the local cafes for dinner as the pub only offers limited evening meals.

Good value for a simple stay. the Double Room offered a basic but functional experience, aligning well with the village's charm.
The hotel felt quite dated. carpets showed significant wear and the room's amenities needed refreshing. The bed sagged, and the presence of plastic undersheets made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. The shared bathroom was small with a faulty lock, which could be an annoyance during busier times.

I was passing through Alston and needed a quick place to stay after a long ride. I really appreciated the spacious double room with an ensuite. it was clean and comfortable. The landlady was incredibly accommodating, providing a better room than what I had booked for the same price. I also enjoyed the convenient location right on the high street, making it easy to grab essentials from the Co-op across the road.

Great value with a cozy vibe.
Having completed a long day hiking the Pennine Way, I found the uphill walk to Victoria Inn rather disheartening. It was especially tiring with my backpack after such a long trek of over 23 miles. The lack of a warm shower upon arrival made it feel like an unfortunately challenging experience.

We had a great time riding through the beautiful scenery of South Tyne valley. The breakfast here was excellent, and the landlady made us feel right at home. Location is perfect for exploring. We also hit a couple of cool spots nearby for golfing and horse riding. Definitely a solid choice for a group getaway.
The single room we stayed in was pretty basic, and I noticed some noise from downstairs during our stay, especially at closing time.

The friendliness of the landlady was a highlight, providing excellent customer service and accommodating my requests. The room was spacious, clean, and included a cozy double bed. Having secure bike storage was immensely helpful on my cycling trip. While breakfast was satisfying, including delightful muesli, the property had a dated appearance and no on-site dinner options made for limited dining choice after a long day.

The high ceilings of the room added a sense of character, although it took a while to warm up. Enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast that set us up nicely for the day. While the pub's decor seemed quite worn and could benefit from some investment, the popularity of the area brought a lively atmosphere, which could be noisy late into the night.

Charming stay with a lovely landlady
I had a wonderfully warm stay here, thanks to the lovely landlady who made sure I had everything I needed. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very satisfying, which set me up nicely for my day ahead. The room was comfortable, although the light from the street came in quite early, so heavier curtains would be a great improvement. I felt very welcome in this quaint town.

Solo traveler seeking comfort
The owner was really lovely and helpful, she made sure I had an early breakfast before I set off walking. The bed was super comfy and I had a decent night's sleep despite some noise from downstairs.
It was a bit pricey for what it was but could still work for one night.
